Thank you, Doctuar! And yeah, I'm surprised by how negative some of the reception to HZD is, just a cursory check of the web after I cleared the game. I mean, I felt its Witcher 3 elements too, and Seeker definitely = Spectre in terms of the game design reason for opening Aloy's world, but that's like saying Castlev…
Thank you so much, DL. I always worry about how longwinded and rambling my comments are about these really great games. It really means a lot to me that you enjoy them.
I concur— that's a large part of why, for instance, I stopped watching The Walking Dead on TV. Not that it had to be uplifting or whatnot, but that it seemed needlessly dark for darkness's sake, especially in the wake of all human civilization has endured and survived in the past.
That's a great point. I think people fixate on the downer ending (from the MC's short term perspective) so much they don't see all the positives that potentially arose from your journeys. Mad mutant cults taken down, the very first town rids itself of marauding bandits and develops into so much more as you mention,…
Wowza, I totally did not expect that! Thank you so much for the shout out! And as always thank you so much for fostering this awesome community where we can have all these great discussions.
Thank you! And I think you can definitely still have those conversations up to the very end of the game so you should be OK (mini-spoiler there's a prompt to "Keep Going" when you talk so I assume your Aloy will just have a huge backlog of things to discuss as opposed to ONLY talking about the most recent main…
Grats on finishing Yakuza 0! And /cheer to that heartfelt final scene (both that one in the empty lot and the one on the streets at night following that). Operatic and lovingly over-the-top yet human and engaging all the same.
Ohhhh, OK. Understood! That reminds me of me and Eternal Sonata. I love the story, but the gameplay's so antiquated getting through it was a real chore at times. So grats on getting past your previous point!
Yeah but Secret Lady Pope Motorcycle is totally worth the wait! Secret Lady Pope Motorcycle is the best Persona design ever! /cheer Secret Lady Pope Motorcycle!
Salutations~! Welcome to the CZ!
Great avatar, too!
Yeah that photo mode's a lot of fun. I got up to the top of this dilapidated structure with moonlight and snowfall in the background and it was great being able to frame all these different shots amidst the robot dinosaur carnage below.
Congrats on beating the 3rd boss!
And /comfort on the inbound inundation of social link/confidant requests.
The game gets into high gear at this point. Just remember the Persona mantra— it's a marathon, not a sprint— level up what you want now, and know that you will get a lot of opportunities throughout the rest of…
I DIDN'T EVEN CALL YOU YET!
I believe this is the link to my final thoughts after having finished Persona 5:

Prices so looooow
That you need a great swooooord
To slash them…. moooooore
Any loooower would be illegal
……Reaaaaally…
Agreed. I love "Alien Manifestation." And the endgame Medley. And everything else musical about this work. I can't choose between this and Persona 5's music. They're both spectacular.
That's definitely a fair point. This felt very Arkham Asylum fast-forward button taped down at times for me, where there IS strong subtext and nuance in spots, but there's also "YOU'RE JUST AS INSANE AS THE VILLAINS YOU CAPTURE, BATMAN" overt elements, and Batman dealing with all this craziness back and forth and…
Thanks for the info! I am so totally down for a long long old school JRPG with some fun character interactions at this moment so this sounds right up my alley then!
Couldn't agree more. It really sticks with you. So many memorable sidequests and small moments that pop up in the back of your mind later on top of everything else in the main story. And that wonderful music too.
