I hate to be *that guy* about this constantly but lol, Cordelia has just died, NO BIG DEAL. I can't understand anyone who defends the writing in this season as its strongest when a character dear to Angel and co. and has had seven years of investment receives not even a funeral or passing mention dedicated to her

I probably should have expressed that better, or er…correctly. Basically, I agree with you, and meant to properly say:
Her person as a whole IS what's endearing, flaws and all especially - but a lot of these comments seem to suggest the show/Lena as being unaware of Hannah's position and privilege when clearly, it is.

Did half of you people even watch the show? We're not supposed to find Hannah endearing for her negative qualities and entitlement issues. It's clearly shown through her interactions with others that she. is. IN. THE. WRONG…

"You're Welcome" is easily the highlight of this sausagefest season. It's practically impossible to watch the show after she returns to remind many what made it so special.

I  realize it's pretty douchey and I don't like making someone's weight an issue…but:

Fat Angel, Eve, and fucking Spike replacing Cordelia make this, easily, my least favourite season of Angel. Also, the "The Girl in Question" is some of the worst character regressive writing ever.

The show got its highest ratings with the finale with "0.1 adults 18-49 rating and 263,000 viewers." yay for series high! :)
Hopefully it'll garner some award recognition to raise awareness for itself and have the dumbass critics who abandoned it with its pilot, finally embrace it.

I adore this comment. Gilmore's general gabbery devolved into one of the most idiotic, internally misogynistic cesspools in season five and six.  I remember the constant labelling of Rory and Lorelai (following their "affairs") as either a whore or bitch - and in Lorelai's case, someone who was  undeserving of a GOD

Seriously. The girls' taste, LANE, and the way it was used on the show was so wonderfully careful. Amy Sherman-Palladino's quote sums up so much of what I love about the show and her own direction:

Not to mention, her best role to date. Love me some Sookie St.James.

well now you HAVE to cover the show AVclub; think of Carlangas' dick!

One of the more hilarious criticisms of this show I've seen exuded - mainly by those who choose to judge things based of their limited exposure - is that "the show is unrealistic", and the classic: "nobody talks like that!" Uh, no shit. The premise itself is pure fantasy - but this doesn't ever prevent  the show from

I totally did a double take seeing this feature, thinking the series was now being covered without my previous knowledge and being ecstatic regardless. COVER THIS SHOW AVCLUB!

It really will come down to that; and when critics end up lamenting its demise, they'll just have to blame themselves. How were they not on- board by the third or fourth episode is beyond me,.

Easily the best new show and it's a travesty how many critics wrote it off early on.

And they're okay with this? The Amber/Seth scene was  nearly IDENTICAL to the one shared between Rory and Christopher in season five.

oh thank god more people are calling out this shit. I can't believe this show is from the same people who developed FNL - which used  music wonderfully WHEN  IT WAS APPROPRIATE. It's just background  noise on this show to indicate *emotion* during scenes.

I've also wondered about the somewhat challenging nature of the show regarding it being covered so I'm wondering if that plays a part in preventing it from being added - but I'd love to see avclub at least attempt it. The show was/still is one of the most smartly written, female-centric produced shows ever.

Are you folks ever going to cover Gilmore Girls? There seems to be enough adoration from most of the staffers on here to justify its placement in 'classics.'

Hey Todd,
or any other staffer for that matter; does Gilmore Girls have a chance to ever be covered? I know it has its share of fans amongst some of you guys here
