Action Bronson…maybe this is what he needs to get a little recognition.

I'm glad someone mentioned them.  "Even Hitler Had A Girlfriend" was one the most played songs of my college years.
I saw them once live, and Dr. Frank started every song with, "This is a song about a girl."

Or celebrates a Dr. J basket by screaming, "Touchdown!"

Or UHF.

I love that when they came around on tour - shit, was it really 10 years ago? - and they wanted to perform that song, but legally can't, they just put the Kasem rant on an overhead projector and the crowd has to recite it.

"Goddammit, I'm nowhere near the West Coast!"

And SCSFA has just uncovered the secret of how DLR hit those high notes back in the day.

That would have been a great tour.

Another great one.
As was Oliver Wang's "Classic Material", a nice album/reference guide.

Soul Circus was pretty good, as was The Way Home.  I liked a lot of the Derek Strange stories.

I read about half a dozen George Pelecanos books - basically, every one in my local library and one I found for 2 bucks during the Borders closeout.

I thought that book was outstanding.  It's thick, but I think I read it in about a day and a half.  Couldn't put it down.  Bought three copies as gifts.

I absolutely love reading Ellroy books, even the average ones.

Move, bitch, get out the way.  Get out the way, bitch, get out the way.

Yeah, I actually played that one twice.  I'll be checking that one out.

Add me to this list - it's almost unfair that the greatest thing I'll read in 2012 happens 3 days in.

I've had the first 3 seasons on DVD (still sealed) for two Christmases now.  This is the year I at least open the shrink wrap.

Do I bother wasting oxygen figuring out where Three Doors Down belong on the Totem Pole Of Suck?

There was a what?

Seethindervescence Eleven?
