I just remember reading some article about how they loved and were "influenced" by Shellac and Slint.  Then I heard the record, and couldn't for the life of me figure out where the "influence" was.

I think he's trying to do the Michele Bachmann Off-Camera Stare Music Video.  Or, not so much trying, as just doing it.

Oh hell no, I wasn't dragged.  But I still think she violated the vows of our ceremony - "In sickness, and in health, but not shitty music taste".

I actually didn't mind that first Punk Goes Metal, so I bought the first Punk Goes Pop on blind faith…and as a result I don't own Volumes 2 or 3, nor did I realize there was a fourth until 10 minutes ago.

Yeah, I'd take Spin Doctors over Hootie anyfuckingday.

I'll admit it - my wife went to this "concert".  We've been in counseling for months.

But is he talking to you about rockets for hours?  Because, I don't know a whole lot on the subject, so a lot of it will go over my head and end up being boring.

I applaud the effort.  I wish I'd thought of it before mine.

I keep trying to convince people that they should have the "Linus and Lucy" theme introduce their wedding parties, and each bridesmaid/groomsman does a different Peanuts dance into the reception.  So far, no takers.

I saw him at a CMJ conference when his first record came out, and he absolutely kicked ass live - which became a problem because when I heard the record, it didn't measure up.  I think I unfairly have not given him an honest listen since (and he even covered Built To Spill which should have won me over).

I don't know how much pre-2011 stuff I really got into this year, because it was so goddamn hard just keeping up with the actual 2011 stuff.

I did like Crack The Skye, but it wasn't until The Hunter came out and people started singing the praises of their past work did I actually check it out for myself.  And I'm glad I did.

For what seems like the 12th straight year, my mother-in-law will put a dozen Cow Tails in a stocking for me.  And they won't last until New Years'.

OK, dammit, that one made me laugh the most so far.

Working class guys go with Heath, and hipster assholes go with Skor.

Finally listening to this now - I like it, and give it an A- solely for the fact that "Sweet" is aimed at Drake.  Seriously, fuck that guy.

Some of my favorites of 2011 to add (in case anyone is interested):

Sarah Palin was the rappin' granny from The Wedding Singer?

Gherkins, are you bidding on a storage locker?

The kid makes commercials that are nothing but him taking stalker photos of other women - and we're surprised the marriage didn't last?
