That's the point though. They give the audience the feeling of discomfort and anxiety to match Chuck's feelings of discomfort and anxiety.

Actually, Chuck very clearly suffers from agoraphobia and an undefined anxiety disorder. The show is doing a fantastic job of portraying it thus far, from the perspective of someone who has dealt with an anxiety disorder.

Definitely an abhorrent episode, but I don't think using Jameis Winston as an example is very helpful; that one may very well actually have been the kind of false accusation that this episode seems so concerned about.
