I do understand all the Voyager-hate on this board, but I still have a soft spot for it.  I will never forget getting all psyched as a freshman in college when the second episode aired ("Parallax").  Janeway and Torres were in the briefing room hashing through all that techo-babble about the event horizon.  Both the

If memory serves, there's an episode of TOS where a woman loses her fiance in an attack with the Romulans (?) and she prays in the Enterprise chapel.  Can't remember the name of the episode, but I remember thinking it significant that religion was seen as a part of the future.

There' s something about rejoined that stinks of that horrible Brigadoon episode… Dax once again falling head over heels in love, ready and willing to uproot her entire life at the spur of the moment for wuuv . I know they have a history and all, but still…

I've never been a fan of this episode and must echo your "didactic slog" statement, Yuri.  It's full of one cliche after the other that with all the subtlety of a targ in heat bangs the audience over the head with tired social commentary.  And then there's Bashir and Sisko's last lines: "What I don't understand is how

Dax is my favorite too.  She's definitely my favorite female character in the entire franchise.  I remember reading or maybe is was watching something about how originally she was supposed to be the Data character—wise, not quite human observer.  However, the producer (Ira Stevens?) decided to go the "suck the marrow

Well said.  Every time I watch this episode, I have the same thought.  While Alexus (sp) is explaining to Sisko how there's an insect here that carries a disease they have yet to find a cure for, I'm just boiling inside, thinking, "that's technology!"  Curing disease, tilling the fields, building a hut—it's all some

The Lwaxana story in "The Muse" was definitely good, but I still think the whole
*SPOILERS* pregnancy story was weird.  Were we just supposed to assume
that women in their 50s regularly have children?  I dunno, seems like
that should've been explained more.

And now I think I may need shamelessly force my AP Lit class to watch a Lwaxana clip of TNG when read part of the Canterbury Tales next time…

The reason I am into Trek is all due to my dad, who had the entire original series on Betamax.  Betamax, I tell you.

I just remember being all upset when I first saw this episode.  Wailing, "Why did they put her in that position?"  It's not fair!  But, alas.  To this day I still get all scrunchy when I watch it.

She was pretty awesome in "Second Skin," the scene where she just loses it, everyone telling her she is a Cardasian and she just knows it isn't so… Great scene.

I always love it when she kicks ass (Damar's) or anytime when she stares down Quark…

It would've been interesting if she had showed up in an episode with Eddington…
