At least in her early appearances, I thought her costume was supposed to be a parody of Robin's costume from Batman.

"The Tick vs Arthur's Bank Account" was my favorite.
Yeah, it was a really preachy episode. Wolverine first says he doesn't go for "easy answers", but by the the end he's praying in church and Rouge sheds a tear. So sappy.
The Tick was the second-greatest 90s cartoon, just behind Batman.
Ugh, the episode where Rogue gets Wolverine to go to church was the worst.
I don't think X-men was all that great, it was passable entertainment, same with the 90s Spiderman cartoon. Spectacular Spiderman was pretty good, took me awhile to warm up to it, then it was cancelled. Dunno why Marvel can make great movies, but fail when it comes to cartoons. They have nothing that comes even…
Teen Titans Go is a lot better show than I thought it would be. Pretty much every episode I've seen gave me something to chuckle at.
The flying kaiju as a nod to Rodan (or maybe Gyaos from Gamera), and the knife head kaiju is similar to a Gamera monster. Other than that, there were kaiju with very loose connections to King Kong and Anguirus.
All of those weirdly-costumed villains reminded me of The Tick
Big monster Saturday for me: Took the kids to the Godzilla convention in Chicago, then we saw Pacific Rim in IMAX 3D that evening. A great time was had by all.
It was also one of the few Kaiju scenes that took place in daylight. Loved the movie, but if there was one thing that bothered me was too many dark/rainy fight scenes where you really couldn't get a good look at the monsters. Especially the final "boss" Kaiju, which should have been impressive, but I had a hard time…
I still prefer the Neal Adams-era Batman. They got rid of the goofiness, but didn't turn him into Charles Bronson.
And why doesn't Batman dance anymore?
I vote for Newmar, but it's a close call between the three 60s Catwomen
We'll see what all the ex-AV Club writers over at The Dissolve have to say about this!
There were a lot of Jaws references. Hard to tell if it was an homage, or lazy screenwriting.
And even better, he rescues the girl who was swallowed by the same shark in midair 15 minutes earlier.
I've always thought The Poet McTeagle is one of the funniest bits. The stage reading cracks me up every time.
Yeah, but the "bad guy" character's motivation was not you-know-what related for locking the dude up to begin with in the manga, so maybe his revenge won't be connected in that was as well. Sorry for the confusion, it's really hard to get a point across without spoilers.
Assuming they keep the twist in. They claim to be staying closer to the manga, which is slightly different. But so much of this trailer has visuals cribbed from the Korean movie, so who knows.
