Sorry to but in here, but Marable's biography is far from fantastic. It includes a number of questionable assertions and misreads so many of Malcolm X's speeches that it is hard to take marable serously. You'd be far better off with Peter Goldman's The Death and Life of Malcolm X, which does a far better job of

Miller and KingBastard: you're thinking of Moanin' for the Volkswagon ad.

I saw them in Bristol, supporting Sonic Youth. GY opened the show by tossing large amounts of cooked spaghetti into the crowd.

Extricate's one of the most accessible Fall albums if you ask me. It's certainly not as out-there as the Mark Riley era. In fact, I'd have it as one of the gateways because it's so listenable (and the reissue has the greatest Fall B-side ever — British People in Hot Weather)

And here it is:

is not just about the technical accomplishments, it's with the film's raging misogyny, borderline racism and its deliberate attempt to reject anything positive about the 1960s. Jenny spends the whole film being dumped upon from a great height, and the reward for putting up with such shit? AIDS. The

I wish this was the first Nirvana appearance at Reading — they were amazing that day. I agree with Taphouse that the second year was a bit more sedate. It was fun but not a patch on 91.
