I have experienced this as well.
I worked on Mario Party DS for a time and my coworkers and I would get into shouting matches to replicate the experience of real player frustration leading to stupid decisions which could lead to bugs.
The grudge decisions were always my favorite- don't pick an option that will help you,

I still have a SNES and pull it out for some Mario Kart racing at parties. Never ceases to inspire intense competition.
Toad and Princess are my go-tos.

This thread never ceases to brighten my day.

I've never watched a Drag Race spin-off show. But Logo execs, if you are listening, I would watch anything you put Bianca del Rio in!

Thanks for those lists. I missed them when they were first posted.
I feel like many of the older shows on the list are dismissed for the same reason most classic American shows are dismissed- dated look and poor production values.
I'm more interested in the text of a show, so I try hard to overlook those aspects when

Good point, I probably should have left England off that list.
But just from this article, you'd be hard pressed to imagine television existed outside the US at all.

One thing I notice also with the difference between movie and television appreciation is the way foreign media is represented.
We can probably name a master of film from England, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan, if not more. Are there no foreign tv shows from the classic era that deserves recognition?
I actually don't

These reviews get me to come back to A.V. Club every time. Reading the comment sections makes me burst out laughing more than the show sometimes.

So much so. I mentioned after the show to a friend that the talent level on this show is amazing. Name one actor that falls below the rest. To me it's the best representation of the 70's ensemble shows that had the best comedic actors of their time working together and pushing each other to do better than they've ever

I almost stopped breathing from laughing at that monologue.

The best part I still can't get over- HE'S A REAL REPORTER.

I don't think Rygel's incompetent at all. He's a strategist, much like Crichton, but his goals are almost purely self-serving, so no one wants to listen to his plans.
When his goals happen to coincide with other people, he's useful to listen to. Which is why I think D'Argo had no problem being tutored by the Dominar in

I'm so happy they showed Rygel in his element. I wonder if his decision to stay on as Crichton's adviser was a small part of him acknowledging that his ability to regain his throne is beyond hope at this point.
Not to say he doesn't want to keep trying, but to find a place where he can be comfortable and have some

SPOILER TAG FOR SUPER SPOILERY INFO
***The most annoying thing about the daughter is that it is never brought up again, especially during and after Aeryn's pregnancy. I know they had a lot of stuff to deal with during the war, but you'd think, considering John's reaction to instantly decide to stay with the Breakaway

I think it's important to look at the way Peacekeepers view relationships in general. Sex is a biological need that you deal with with whoever is convenient and not offensive to you. Aeyrn's emotions have been 'activated' (for lack of a better term) since she's left the Peacekeepers and she needs to deal with the

Whenever a good news/bad news event presents itself in my life, this line goes through my head.

His mystified 'where-the-fuck-did-this-skit-go-oh-what-the-hell-Will-looks-like-he's-having-fun' laugh and hand wave is one of my favorite parts of the skit.

I didn't get into B5 until later this season when…

Cast parties were the majority of my parties in high school. We tended to have parents that wanted to give the kids some space so would actually make plans for the night telling us they'd be back around 1 or so.
One in particular stands out:
My cousin and I were both on the crew for a musical and hitched rides to the
