Man, I LOVE me some crime funk!

I'm 40. "Walk This Way" with RUN DMC came out when I was in 7th grade. Although I bought Pump when it was popular (listened to it once and filed it away) I largely could take or leave them. However, talking to acquaintances ranging from my coworker (23) to my brother-in-law (33) have mentioned that they were into

The thing that always bothered me about that song was there was an MTV "Rockumentary" (shudder) about the making of Pump. They have footage of Tyler recording the vocals and he sings "He RAPED a little bitty baby…" to which the producer says "we probably shouldn't say RAPE, what else have you got?" Then he comes up

I think "actually sound good together" is a bit subjective.

I had read/heard about tone rows for years, but had never knowingly heard any music that employed them. A few years ago I was studying upright bass with a great jazz player in town. He showed me a composition he was working on for an ensemble he was working with. As we analyzed the music, he pointed to a section and

So, where is A.V. Club's coverage of the lawsuit against Lena Dunham?

Um, what?

Eh, isn't calling Chris Rock a "cast member" a bit of a stretch?

The whole thing was pretty shaky. I just want to say that Michael Che looks like Melvin Gibbs.

Looks like somebody mentioned this, but a local channel has been inexplicably rerunning episodes of Coach. Man that show was terrible. After barely making it through one episode, it jogged my memory that when I was working my record store gig in the 90s, they did a "Coach's Favorites" kind of collection. Mostly Baby

Don't forget the Whammy Pedal solo.

Send us Klay Thompson and we'll talk.

I hate to be a nit-picking nerd, but the upright/double/string bass has been around since the 1600's whereas the modern electric bass has been around since 1951. I'd be careful referring to bass guitars as "standard bass."

Also, discotheques are what you call clubs in Europe. None of this really has anything to do with disco music.

Funny thing is, Clooney would have been either performing with a jazz combo or at most a big band. The band would have brought their instruments up on the elevator and you stick a mic in front of them.

I was going to say it looks a lot like Minnesota in January or February. I'm no exprert on Bemidji, but Lester's house looks like its in South Minneapolis (I know it's in Canada).

Pardon me, but it's "uff-da."

Agony is what I experience when I hear Malkmus sing.

Cancer Girl was pretty hot.

I'll give you that, but Nigel is Jeff Beck and Derek Smalls is Steve Harris meets Lemmy.
