Nope. OK Computer was '97. Dan's "Two Against Nature" which came out in '00 won so it would have been up against "Kid A." It also beat out "The Marshall Mathers LP."

Ah yes. Seven Ages Of Rock which claims "Rock and Roll started with The Who"!?!?!?

Oh, and River Phoenix died in '93, not '94.

Putting Hendrix' guitar playing aside for a second (which IS incredible), I think Hendrix is second only to late-period Beatles when it comes to advances in production and experimenting with sound during that era. Please see "Electric Ladyland" and "Axis Bold As Love."

But all current indie rock is for fuckin pussies…

Kind of surprised "City of God" didn't make the list.
The gang leader who took power by killing the older gang leader when he was a kid is killed by The Runts.

Jazz is pretty much dead? We must run in very different circles.

Melvin Gibbs and Andrew Weiss…
are the only reasons I pay attention to Henry.

I love the description on that clip: "When do life begin?"

I loved this guy on Star Search.
He really hit those high notes on "Over The Rainbow."

Also, when Eddie Vedder was an unemployed surfer from San Diego, he followed Living Colour up and down the West Coast when they were touring the year before "Cult of Personality" broke, so…

I agree 100% about Living Colour being a "gateway" band: Loud rock that was not about girls and cars.

I remember that. Back then it was called Hangin' With MTV. They either played "100%" or "Sugar Cane" and at the end of the song, Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon started making out on the floor with their instruments still strapped on and plugged in, creating some beautiful ugly noise.

Vivino makes all the charts and transcriptions for the band so he is the most qualified from a strictly MUSICAL standpoint. Great player but not much personality.

Adolph Menjou.
Regis Toomey.

Liz Phair is Useless.
I saw her perform on The Tonight Show in the mid 90s (go ahead and laugh, I was probably waiting for Conan to come on). She was backed by Chuckles Eubanks, and I believe Bob Hurst, Jeff Watts and Kenny Kirkland from the Tonight Show Band.

There was a box set out for Motown in the 90s called Hitsville USA. Don't know if its still in print.

Is it wrong that I enjoyed the scene with Robert Wisdom and Selma Blair in Storytelling…if you know what I mean?

End it Loach.

I believe he was referring to the Sinatra of the 40s/early 50s.
