Nooo. This season was the first where the mythology episodes totally lost me. Two Fathers/One Son….I had no idea wtf was going on. Bees, black oil, a bunch of similar looking old men, alien shapeshifters, Samantha…the brought together every element and made it as incoherent as possible. But still, a ton of good…

Also, although it may be the best episode up to this point, there's a lot of competitors later in the season like Monday, Arcadia, and Milagro, to name a few.

I enjoyed it too, but a lot of it felt pretty padded. Coulda been a neat Christmas mini episode or something. And I don't mind the eclectic mix of styles in this season at all. X Files was, and maybe still is, the only show that could do whatever the hell it wanted week to week and get away with it. So why not try…
