My favorite for sure. "If I Had A Tail" may be creeping into my Top 5.

Apparently this is how Friedkin liked to work. He did the same thing with Wang Chung for To Live and Die in LA.

I feel like that final question could be answered by reading her interview on this very site.

Amini stayed on after Refn came on board and rewrote it with Refn. But yeah, there was a ton of editing done by Refn and Gosling during filming/editing.

Hopefully he actually listens to the criticisms and works to improve as an actor/filmmaker and doesn't explain it away as people being haters or whatever nonsense celebrities do these days to justify poor decision-making.

Confirmed bachelor. He and his roommate throw the best parties!

I don't think he's been implying each one was his last, he's been clear that he had a limited number of movies left to make and that Liberace would be the last one. He also hasn't said with any finality that he is done with movies, but he seems to be done with them for a while.

Of course, I'm not the first. A little known blogger named Sean O'Neal noted the similarities in this news piece some time ago. http://www.avclub.com/artic…
This Rolling Stone article claims David was credited as the script's co-writer at one point (but likely pulled it when he saw what a turd Levinson had made).

Sounds like a variation on the theme LD explored in both Sour Grapes and Envy. Good news is, it won't have to work hard to be better than either of those movies.

I feel like if you're looking for things to criticize, then yes, TMP is a mess, particularly with its almost overwhelming cast of characters. But then, 30 Rock did a lot of pruning and smoothing out of its rough edges after the first season and came out much better for it. But just as a viewer wanting to laugh, TMP

Agreed. This extended even into the '90s. Coach was set in Minneapolis, Drew Carey in Cleveland, Frasier in Seattle, Designing Women in Atlanta, Home Improvement and Martin both in Detroit, 3rd Rock from the Sun in suburban Columbus. Sitcoms barely take place anywhere but NY or LA (or some fictional California town).

I dunno, I laughed pretty hard during the triathlon episode when Mark Duplass went nuts and poured the Gatorade cooler on himself.

He is becoming less and less pitiable, I think by design. Every time I see him do something more despicable than the last despicable thing, I stop and wonder if he would be in this place if Anna Draper was still alive. Her death really did a number on him.

I highly doubt if BMW or Mercedes had come along back then he would have turned them down. It was entirely personal with Roger and the Japanese. I still know people who either don't drive Japanese or keep it a secret because they don't want their grandfathers to find out.

Funny, as I think James Burrows did both 1995's Partners and 2012's Partners.

No, it's essentially Hughes through and through. It was at a time when he was basically farming his screenplays out and serving as producer but probably didn't have the time or inclination to direct them all so he took on proteges like Deutch and Chris Columbus. Anthony Michael Hall was even the first choice to play

She was supposed to end up with Duckie but I guess Hughes or someone at the studio worried that it played too much like "I guess people should only date others within their own socio-economic class after all!" so they reshot it (which is why McCarthy is clearly wearing a wig in that scene).

I think they made the right call. With RDJ it would have been a bit too "Why the fuck is Katie Holmes drooling all over James Van Der Beek?"

Sorry guys, you are too sensitive. The majority of people don't equate cats with toddlers and Dwight is a minority of that majority that would actually treat a cat as highly disposable.

The Dish with Topanga on Style Network! Not that I ever watched it…
