Yes, see if you can make that leap.

Gotta disagree. Green produced Nichols' first movie and Nichols uses many of Green's crew on his projects, so if there's influence, it goes both ways. Nichols is fantastic and Green getting back to his roots sounds great, too. I'll say this: Nichols is much better at making films with a plot (or at least forward

If the film is anything like the book, the role calls for a quiet, subtle performance. Nic Cage is about the last actor I can think of for quiet or subtle. However, David Gordon Green is the first filmmaker I would want for this book. Highly mixed feelings about this announcement.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were referencing their MTV show. MTV doesn't pay shit.

The ads make this one look like more of a shoot em up than it is. There is a lot of violence but it's not nearly the period action movie they're making it look like.

SPOILERS?
The car is referred to as a "jalopy" in the film. I think it looks shitty mostly to contrast with the fancier cars Shia gets later in the film.

I know it goes against McCarthy's nihilistic tendencies, but because The Road is so much about McCarthy and his own young son, I actually saw the ending as hopeful like it's portrayed in the film. Not to psychoanalyze the author, but I think the whole story a metaphor about McCarthy being very afraid of dying and

I remember the BJ part. I was probably 13 when I read it and dug the descriptions of the wife's yellow panties, but could have done without the descriptions of her playing with his "graying pubic hair."

I was in love with the daughter in that movie. I think she also played Kelly's sister on Saved By The Bell. Good times.

Make sure you put an otter on all the advertising art just to confuse matters a little more.
