I'm excited that he might do The Bottoms. I'm excited for him to do any Joe Lansdale stuff. He will do it justice. He would actually make a great Hap to Samuel L. Jackson's Leonard if they ever adapt any of the Hap & Leonard books.

I was just about to write the same thing. What a brilliant, underutilized actor. It's nice to see him in things that let him actually show his skills; where he's not just playing a stereotype or sending up his image (see: Mars Attacks, Joe Dirt, Dukes of Hazzard, Strange Wilderness).

It's hard to explain why I like Rushmore better. One aspect is that it's not as self-consciously Wes Anderson-y. It's a lot more Anderson than Bottle Rocket, but still not the full blown world that Royal Tenenbaums and Life Aquatic were. Actually, the last time I watched it, I noticed a nice parallel between Max

Probably. I have like three stories I tell over and over.

I like that he legitimately seems weird and it's not an act. I once saw a short fat white guy climb out of his Range Rover and walk into a Jersey Mike's sub shop and order a sandwich. When the guy at the counter asked him if he wanted banana peppers the guy said "Sure, why not?" About a minute after he left I realized

I found it odd that Maron didn't ask about Poundstone's admitted asexuality. Anytime someone has given up sex indefinitely, there's going to be a fascinating story there.

Yeah, completely beyond his level of research. There was a Vice article before season 2 that made it sound like something had gone down and Hill was reticent to talk about it, but then Best showed up at the end of that season. But rehab sounds like a strong possibility from what a friend in Charlotte has told me.

What would Daisy say about that?

I knew McBride was a cool guy from listening to the commentary tracks, but those stories were greatness. I kinda wish Maron had asked about Ben Best (Chuck The Truck/Clegg/co-creator of Eastbound) who seemed to have a falling out with McBride and Jody Hill before season 2 and moved back to Charlotte, but that's just

I recall reading a rumor that De Palma originally wanted Carrie Fisher. That's not a name joke.
