His short film "Cigarettes and Coffee" is just okay. I mean, it's amazing for a 22 year old or however young he was, and visually it's pretty close to Hard Eight, but the script is pretty unmemorable and derivative. Then again, judging by the running times of most of his features, maybe the short film just isn't his

I'm starting to think this Smith fellow isn't going to live up to the promise of his debut feature.

McBride is the first person from the Northern VA/DC suburbs that I've seen identify as Southern. Usually they're all too happy to distance themselves from their Southern VA brethren. Maron clearly doesn't have much experience with the area, as he was throwing out the Southern stereotypes willy-nilly (although McBride

Me too. I was 15 and remember that year so well. Somehow they sold me tickets to this, American Beauty, Go and Virgin Suicides—didn't even have to sneak in. Probably because they were just happy to being selling tickets to these arty movies. Wouldn't let me into Magnolia though. '99 is definitely a top 5 "best movie

I think in the original script it was Kevin Bacon, but Sheen is so much better.

Going back and watching season 1 is weird now. It feels a little shoddy and thrown together, which I guess was the charm at the time, but the production is pretty flawless at this point. It's a show that gets better as it goes, with the last three or four seasons being the best, IMO.

Didn't she get offed by Javier Bardem?

Well, that's good to know then. I feel like Anderson can churn out B+ movies all day long, I don't know if he's had a solid A since Rushmore. I do appreciate the lack of inflation though.

The only thing that's disappointing is that he's still in the B+ range. I want an A from this guy, dammit.

Can't wait for Even More Happy Days. "What's with that Malcolm X character?"

Hein does the Wrap Up Show on Howard Stern now and is a big part of that show. He's also a millionaire from the TV Guide deal. He also claims to have gotten 80 blowjobs in high school, which, if you've seen him, is kind of hilarious.

Been waiting for this for a long time. His Daytrotter session was greatness. I like the sounds of this one. He sounds uncannily like Jim James from MMJ's first few albums, but the music is moody and somber.

Don't you dare correct me.

It's a New Orleans thing, but they're available in other places. It's crushed ice with flavored syrup of your choosing. Very tasty. Also called a Snow Cone. Very similar to Shaved ice, the Hawaiian treat.

Any fan of Bobcat should download The Q & A with Jeff Goldsmith from last week. Goldsmith opens up with a question about Hot to Trot which clearly gets Bobcat a little miffed and when Goldsmith tries to move on, Bobcat goes for about 30 minutes refusing to answer any questions about God Bless America, only Hot to

What free pass? Did the other 30 states get parodied on SNL and I missed it? It just seems like a waste of time to even bother. Move on to the next state and work hard to make sure that this doesn't happen again. SNL mocking NC wouldn't teach anyone a lesson (I'm guessing the people who voted for the ban aren't really

When 30 other states have a similar ban, what's the point in picking on the most recent?
