OH REALLY? Then how did Moby make his phat beats? Huh? What about DJ Skribble? You think he's spinning CDs on those turntables? Yeah, that's what I thought.

To clarify, Ribisi and Lewis both guest starred on Earl, which is why I mentioned them.

Giovanni Ribisi and Juliette Lewis are both members of MindHea—Scientology. I read somewhere the creator of the show is also a follower of LRH. Some people even theorized the conceit of the show was some sort of Scientology propaganda. I don't know about all that, but that Mexican lady was good lookin'.

Michael Caine just makes a lot of movies period. Some are godawful, some are fantastic.

If anyone is still frothy mouthed over Office Space, you better fire up that Moby record, cause you are stuck in 1999.

Funeral, Neon Bible and to a lesser extent The Suburbs are good albums, but Clouds, Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi are classic albums, something I don't think AF has made yet. It is indeed like comparing Grizzly Bear to Radiohead, but I think your analogy is reversed.

Above poster, crazy pills, etc.

Coyne talked a lot of shit about Beck too. Maybe Coyne is just a hater. Or maybe a truth teller.

He's from Houston, which may be worse than Canada.

Just reported him to Dr. Drew and booked him a room at the rehab facility. He'll be rooming with Steven Adler.

I can understand the criticism on a song like Portland Oregon which is essentially a Raconteurs song with Loretta on lead vox, but a lot of those songs are pretty spare, though obviously not very Nashville sounding. The title track is pretty perfect; I'd hate to hear it glossed up. His stamp seems much more prominent

Keep in mind Van Lear Rose was written almost entirely by Lynn. Still Country was not. Whatever you hated can't all be Jack White.

The only people I've ever thought were sellouts are the people who once professed anti-capitalist, anti-commercialism sentiments in their music and then go give their song to Pizza Hut. The people who just write love songs and put their songs in movies and ads, I usually assume they're just trying to make money off

I'm sure she's receiving a paycheck. That's just silliness. Ditto Rebecca Pidgeon. Cute girl, but c'mon already.

Ethan Coen admitted that actors in his films carry themselves. They don't direct actors. Should they not be nominated?

No one's putting me in a movie either

Yeah, putting her alongside Dushku and Larter and American Pie girl was just kind of mean.

I realize all that, I guess I'm talking more about it can be funny when a band is trying to get something out of a sort of legendary place like this and it gets thrown back in their face (at their own admittance; not knocking the Black Keys, btw). Like you said, a space can be just a space and it's not going to work

Because they went there to try to capture some sort of ambiance or to get something magical out of this historic studio, and it ended up being pretty much the opposite of magical. I think it gives credence to what people are saying that a lot of times the so-called magic is just a placebo effect. I dunno, I guess I

I think some people think he's a bit exploitative of his fans, what with all his crappy merchandising (and now charging a buttload for tickets). Also a bit of a blowhard. Then again, I was obsessed with the man at 15 and bought my share of Stash merch, so maybe I'm just bitter.
