Squeeze couldve made the Misc cut, you're right. The Vapors hadn't occurred to me, but they're also in the ballpark.

Should've snuck Van Halen into the Misc. Good tip on The Motors.

Very nice. Thanks for that one.

Ah, but it came out in '71.

"Southern Girls" is in my personal power-pop Top 10. (And yet my favorite Cheap Trick song is "Mandocello," for reasons I find hard to articulate, since it's not very power-y.)

I did the power-pop GTG way back in the early days of the feature, before we started getting more extensive with it, and I've always felt that I screwed it up royal. I'd been itching to do something longer and more comprehensive. (The GTG does focus more on the post-86 bands though, so it still has some use.)

I hope Nashville folks (of which I used to be one) don't worry too much about those kind of inevitable logistical inconsistencies. It always bugged me when I reviewed THE CHICAGO CODE when Chicagoans in the comment section would nitpick where the cops were driving versus where they were going, and the like. Those…

Because it is so completely unlike NASHVILLE that the comparison would be kind of silly. The political story is different. The music story is different. The style is very, very different.

I am; but I also have to rewind bits to try and get quotes right, et cetera. I'm not watching in stop-start mode all the way through, but if I have a screener, I rarely watch it uninterrupted from start to finish. But any interruption is about the length of time that a person would pause a show to go to the bathroom…
