I wavered on that, but decided that was the cleanest way to introduce that the house in Orlando. (It's probably not the cleanest way, but that was what I decided at the time.)

I do the occasional FOC essay and interview in addition to the reviews; and Oliver's been expanding his coverage of the mainstream titles. We do what we can, and would like to do more, but it's a matter of balancing reader interest and available resources. Still… it has been expanding, albeit gradually.

That's perfectly fair, Lurky. (I would've voted for Tom myself.) Interestingly though, we heard from a lot of publishers at SDCC who said they appreciated our coverage because we're not all-comics-all-the-time, and thus reach a potentially wider audience. It was an interesting perspective.

Relax, fellas. It's just a hook for the article. I've been writing about what's been going on in comics for this site for over a decade. I just wanted to focus a lot of those thoughts into one piece, and to write about my experiences at Comic-Con, and to do so in away that might draw non-comics-readers in.

Depends on what comparative model you use. Mainstream comics don't sell as well as they used to, and can't stand up to movies and TV in terms of audience. But they do well in comparison to the rest of the publishing industry, and alt-comics are experiencing something of a boom, in contrast to a decade or so ago.

It does need to be addressed, and I'm fine with the way this film addresses it, by using it as a way to string the audience along to make a larger point. I'm referring only to the facts as presented in this film, just to be clear.

I've been trying to remember it all day, and even went to a list of current Atlanta stations to jog my memory, but it's just not coming to me. This would've been between 1970 and 75, when I was a toddler.

I'll ask him in heaven, Robo. I'll ask him in heaven.

Love THE MIDDLEMAN. Subject of a future "Very Special Episode" column I hope, perhaps later this year.

I wavered on whether to mention COMMUNITY, for fear that there *would* be a notification, which might irritate some folks.

I almost mentioned Wes Anderson, but figured that might set off the anti-Anderson contingent. But I had him in mind, for sure.
