Well you're all a bunch of pussies, but my wife once got sick for hours after viewing Michael Snow's "<->" ("back and forth"). It's a film in which the camera is constantly pivoting laterally back and forth. She had motion sickness for hours afterwards.

You obviously don't know what class society is, then. Congratulations, moron.

Anyone who puts their stock in bourgeois politics (i.e., supports the Republicans, Democrats, or supposed third-party alternatives) is a complete fucking loser, I don't care how much money they have. This asshole supports a rotten system, so fuck him.

That's pretty awesome.

I love "Get a Life". I think it's the best live-action show of the 1990s ("The Simpsons" obv. being the best overall).

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I saw this with my mom, too! I was 14 or 15.

Half man half shark!

As long as TVDW doesn't go on and on again about his fucking lame childhood again.

If "Get a Life" doesn't make you laugh, then there's little hope for you.

Letterman's performance is awesome.

I've got lots of good ideas, it's true.

Did anybody else here read the takedown of "Mad Men" in Harper's a couple of months ago? It made some very good points as to why that show feels so fake - particularly that by hitting all of the period details so much on the mark, it actually succeeds in feeling wildly off the mark, since specific place and times so

I think much of the fun of "Mr. Arkadin" is enjoying the truly bad acting by Robert Arden. His reading of some lines is atrocious, like when he exclaims "Triple straight VODka!" (zoinks!) He's like this campy presence in an otherwise artistically masterful film.

@Shock and Au Contraire I thought that Welles's "The Trial" left much to be desired, including the sets and the acting. (I've never seen Jeanne Moreau act worse, and Anthony Perkins did not seem at all like Josef K. in the novel). Really, for me the film didn't convey the claustrophobia of the novel.

In a way I can understand this. My parents and I attended a Methodist church in the 80s, and at one point there was discussion about harboring illegal Nicaraguan refugees from the Contras, which would have been a great thing to do had they committed to doing it.

Just wondering. Isn't a man allowed to wonder?

If this movie is charming and enjoyable to watch, why does it get an F? Shouldn't it get at least in the D range? Or is an F obligatory for all MST3K-approved films?

That's like ground zero for wimpiness.

Moreover, why would a deist worship actively? A deist believes that God's work is already finished, since everything was put in motion with the Big Bang.
