Why would an atheist go to church? For the music, or what?

That was way too much explanation required. I assume you were responsible for the sole "Like" for your comment.

It doesn't really sound all that fucked up, so reading about it again and again has grown tedious.

@HarbingerOfDuh Fair enough. I'm not looking to start a fight.

Have you considered that writing all of your feelings out may not be the most effective form of mental therapy for you, Todd? Maybe try some gestalt?

I love that one.

@Bob K I'm sorry - please don't compare Welles with Nolan, Spielberg or Fincher in my presence ever again.

Oh yes, I love F for Fake! I own it and have studied it, including the awesome second-disc extra "One Man Band." It's top-tier Welles….which would include Mr. Arkadin and probably three or four other films.

@Mike Pipper It's certainly a worthwhile film, but as you said, to each his own.

Wow, this is instantly so boring.

I finally understand why you are one of A.V. club's top commenters. How amazingly funny and clever! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA[etc.]

Citizen Kane is not his best, though. That title goes to Mr. Arkadin - any of the 3 versions you wish, though my favorite is probably "Confidential Report".

@HarbingerOfDuh You really hate the spray tan that much? I guess you're not a fan of Welles's "Othello" then.

You kidding? The Trial is one of his worst.

What makes it work is that it's fucking awesome, like nearly all other Welles-directed films.

You're forgetting Star Trek, Dragnet, etc., etc.

Come on, now. I could name several hundred movies that were worse than "Horrible Bosses".

@deewal You're right on that count - Val does some weirdly more human than many of the other characters. If this had been season 2, 3, or 4, the writers probably would have found a way to let her character organically grow and give us a reason to care about her and Darryl (or someone else). As it is, in season 8, they

Thanks, asshole. Obviously I didn't find the review very helpful.

Maybe you should look up the meaning of prescient.
