What about Fassbinder's "Querelle"?
What about Fassbinder's "Querelle"?
Well, he did state that the film was based on a play she wrote nearly 20 years earlier.
This was an excellent write-up for a film that I didn't know existed! (At last Rabin refrains from reviewing a "secret success" film).
I'll give you that maybe Peter was a worse singer than Davey…but that dance scene in "Head"? I'm surprised to see several people here praising it. I've always thought it was one of the movies few low points. (The highest high being, IMO, Mike's birthday party).
Long live Peter!
The worst Monkee has died! I'm not exactly happy that he died, but he was surely the weakest link among them. He couldn't dance (witness the scene in "Head" with Toni Basil); the other three were bettter singers; he couldn't play an instrument; he couldn't even wear a suit properly ((see same scene in "Head").
To be honest, I've only seen "Saraband" once, so I can't say whether it rewards repeated viewings. But I did think it was far from Bergman's worst - better than "The Virgin Spring" or "The Serpent's Egg," to name just a couple.
I thought Saraband was a fine film.
True, but it isn't half as depressing as "Autumn Sonata."
Nah.
uh, I was just thinking of a funny Three Stooges episode.
Vertigo is notoriously overrated by Hitchcockophiles. For one such as I, who has seen every Hitchcock film but whom even a psychotic Nazi dentist couldn't get to swear by Hitchcock's singular genius, Vertigo is just okay. Rope is better.
Classic Pasolini.
Not to mention that there are literally dozens of Criterion films that have been out for quite awhile that are still, inexplicably not available through Netflix.
Hey, maybe if you cleaned up now and then and gave it its space, everything would be all right between you.
Yes, "The Thin Blue Line" blows, as do Ken Burns' documentaries and (to a lesser extent) "Office Space". Otheerwise, I get your point.
Undeniably true. She can do jumping jacks like nobody's business.

Okay, except the second series of the UK version was far inferior to the first. So maybe they should have just limited it to one series?
Well…for all we know, he recovered and is doing fine now.
