This whole thing is just infuriating. I can't believe they did it.

The bird being dead when it was put in the body is a great idea for a different show, or at least a slightly different version of Hannibal. I feel like the show traffics in that kind of magical realism in a nicely subtle way already. No need to make it literal, as the tone and atmosphere is already there.
