Furthermore to this (and I'm sure that someone else has put this better than I am about to further along in this thread, but this is the main thing that bugs me so I'm saying it anyhow), even if they had followed through with their stated plan the people we met would still have winked out of existence.

I always found it far more hilarious to refer to it as "N*****s".

My favourite line from this episode has to be just before that when Odo asks Bashir how he knew that the woman was up for it, and Bashir sort of sheepishly under his breath says "Well, it is that sort of program…". I woke up my wife with my reaction to that line.
