And he did production work on Miles Davis' final recording and lone attempt at hip-hop, Doo-Bop.

Yeah, I don't know if all of that was going to make the cut (seems that some are just demo versions or unreleased remixes), but "Me & My Bitch" for sure got fucked up due to sample shit. The BIG MACK promo tape actually has the original.

OH MAN!!! It's ABOUT FUCKING TIME for some Tribe reissues!

Rob could hold his own, but a lot of those albums from that era are ruined by poor production (see also The LOX).

Craig is pretty forgettable as an MC, but I actually really like Project: Funk Da World. The whole thing is often so blundtedly bizarre. The self-productions are pretty dope and dense, and there's some prime Easy Mo Bee beats throughout. Even Mack's marble-mouth flow kinda works on a lot of the tracks; shit sounds

Yeah, Operation: Get Down is straight GARBAGE. Like, fuuuuuuuuuuuuck…..

Pete also created the beat for Tribe's "Jazz (We've Got)," which he played for Tip who then recreated it himself in the studio. At least Tip was cool enough to give Pete a shout for the beat on the track even though Rock isn't credited in the liners.

Mo Bee also did the beat to the title track on Ready, right? So good; really sucks that sample issues have fucked-up both that track and "Machine Gun Funk" on all recent pressings of the album. You'd think Puff would have enough dough to pay off whoever is in charge of Westbound's rights…

I've been trying to figure out if the remix Pete did IS his original. The way I've heard Rock explain it, he may have actually done a beat very similar to the album version, but Puff just recreated it in the studio instead of using Pete's version.

The mental health stuff I remember reading in an interview with another producer or artist. I forget which one. I just remember an anecdote about Mo Bee shut up in a hotel room not letting anyone in because he thought someone was out to get him.

Ahhh, didn't know you were referring to the vid. I think there were a bunch of cameos in that from what I remember.

I don't know of any hip-hop fan who's ever said anything bad about "Get Retarded." It's a serious cult classic. You're insane.

I remember reading from Mo Bee himself in an interview that he got dicked over by Puff and Bad Boy after he took umbrage to Diddy taking production credit for the remix to "Flavor." He was apparently more or less blacklisted from Bad Boy after that, though I've also heard that Mo Bee has suffered from some intense

Das EFX is not in any way shape or form on that remix.

I was gonna say! Sean, I love you, but you're full of shit on writing off that single.

I'm sure he's probably terrible to his children and wife as well. I can't imagine living with that guy is any fun.

You deny it, then delete that denial, and post something about how "DAMN RIGHT I DID!"

The irony of someone complaining about "hero worshiping" and then going so diligently and angrily to bat for a rock musician who said a bunch of repugnant, childish bullshit.

It is, and you did. The sign of true confidence!
