It has "La Schmoove," so it's definitely worth picking up. Not a classic, but not an embarrassment like, say, Me Phi Me.

That said, Rabin had better write-up The Infamous when he gets to 1995.

I can never choose a favorite beat of all-time, but "Shook Ones Part II" definitely shares the top spot along with a ton of others ("They Reminisce Over You" to name one).

Hey Pharcyde fans!

I definitely DO NOT agree with your claim that most other hip-hop from that era hasn't aged well, but I do give you props for recognizing the greatness of Blowout Comb.

The big drawback of Labcabin is that you can tell the group is in the midst of fracturing. Sure, the songs and production are generally great, but there's less chemistry, less humor, and less comfort. The fact that tracks like "The Hustle" and "The E.N.D." feature one member of the Cyde each plus their random weed

Nah, The Chronic takes it by far. "Still Dre" is a jam, but NOT the best beat in hip-hop. I love it when Dre relied more on samples than just synths.

Also, it's the production on 3 Years that often fails. Compared to other records of that year like Mecca And The Soul Brother, The Chronic, and Bizarre Ride, a lot of it sounds a little hoakey and misguided. Not to mention the superb remix of "People Everyday" was not included on the original album.

I LOVED Arrested Development when they first appeared. I was 7 or 8, but man, did I love that group.
