Okay, you're a dumb fuck on the grounds that you fundamentally misinterpreted what I said, and continue to rant at me and make completely off-base points and entirely unwarranted judgements about me personally because I'm arguing with your precious amateur of a critic.

Oh so you're a fan of this D'Angelo guy.  No wonder you're being such a troll on this comment board.

The fuck are you talking about?  I'm talking about the abstract, ideal goal of any film critic.  Because the AV Club, while a part of the Onion, consists of a bunch of professional critics critiquing pop-culture artifacts.  I'm not naive enough to think everything they say can or will teach me anything meaningful

I would argue firstly that Rose does not intend the defendant to be guilty.  You've seen other commenters' arguments to that effect, so I won't reiterate them.  But more importantly I'm trained as a student of critical lit theory not to care what the author intends, because the work itself might end up doing something

Ohhhh!  Mike D'Angelo!  You wrote that blog post I read the other day in which you argued that GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES' manipulation of viewer sympathy is "wrongheaded."  Yeah I began to question your credibility as a critic then.  But now you're going to sit here and say, "- It's a movie. This case didn't actually

Where is the evidence physically linking the kid to the crime scene?  There is none.  It's all circumstancial.  And despite the shakiness of the analogy, it's the same deal with OJ.  Actually it was an even better deal for OJ because the hard, non-circumstancial evidence was proven to have been planted.  And while

You can be as secure as you want to be, but ultimately you look sort of like a moron if it looks like you can't back up your arguments.  I mean if you're going to disagree with someone, have the courtesy to explain why at least.

That wasn't a behind-the-scenes video.  That was Chris Hardwick and friends bowling with the show's cast on Hardwick's YouTube channel, Nerdist.

As much as the emerging funny-rape meme irritates me, it's not as irritating as fucking Russel Brand.
