I absolutely did not like The Abstinence Teacher, one of the reasons is what you mention in this review.

New changes….feel different. Do other long-running books series have the same pitfalls as the fantasy genre (like say mystery)?
@hunsweasel
I watched Hobo with a Shotgun. It was about a hobo with a shotgun.
Bring Back
Clone High….that is all.
Malcolm in the Middle
I love him in that show.
There is going to be a Johnny English movie coming out this year!
I have seen most of his newest one (Big happy family or whatever it was called)…and it was terrible. Annoying characters, Madea is just terrible….the women were all evil in this one with the men being put-upon by the harpies. There was a big twist at least. and Maury Povich.
I think it holds up pretty well. Ethan Hawke's character is annoying to me though.
the MTV type satire was great and spot on.
Smurf 2: The Smurfening
Crazy, Stupid Love: Which was enjoyable, but I love the cast as well so that gives it some leeway.
I watched Horrible Bosses instead.
The problem with Green Lantern
Is that they sunk 200+ million into it. A shit ton of money for a "B" character. I guess they are hoping it kills it in the foreign market. I don't really have a problem with comic book movies-I enjoy them for the most part. But come on, spending 200+ million on Green Lantern?
Swingers, Chasing Amy, and Last Man Standing. Decided to take care of a couple 90s blind-spots (plus 90s bar trivia this week). All were solid to good.
Nah a jury would be smart enough to know that David Carr was partially responsible for his high sack numbers.
I blame this on Bridesmaids.
Again, I think a point is being missed. Bringing civilization to the masses is good….because it is bringing civilization to the masses.
Obviously his friend wasn't smart enough to get to NYC or some other big city. But he was smart enough to go to the library to watch Japanese movies and I guess interact with the librarian. Good job.
I have Netflix and a Kindle….and yet I still find time to look and browse for new books and movies as well in "reality". They aren't mutually exclusive. Though I don't live in the middle of bumfuck either.
Off the top of my head
Party Down-Season 1 doesn't really kick in until the final few episodes, season 2 is great.
