Eh, it was worth a chuckle.
Eh, it was worth a chuckle.
It was a great interview. Although the bit about them changing anything the internet guesses was a missed opportunity: "So, guys, what are some examples of something you had been planning on doing but then changed away from when the internet guessed it?"
Really? Can you point me at some good ones?
Agreed, but the show goes away for so long it's like a bad breakup: terrible grief, then moving on with your life, then a tentative new relationship with Archer, then BAMM they're back, and all those feelings are just overwhelming!
I see the show as being more Architecture Digest than Michelin Guide.
Yes, in that they both laugh at deadlines. But Venture bros. doesn't kill non-henchmen characters. Phantom Limb had his body blown into pieces, and he's still around causing trouble.
I'm all for spreading the Venture love, but do you want to be tailoring your profile to someone with "Got A Sex Change" in their user name? Not that there's anything wrong with that.
That's an interesting point about T.S. not stepping up his game. He treats the arrival and tremendous success of JJ as just another thing to sigh about. He's competitive about appearances but not about reality.

@Mrs gods instant pancakes: that sounds awesome.
Perhaps these ad hominem attacks might make some headway with some people for my thesis that in this issue emotions are what is running the show.
Who are you talking about? It can't be me because I was clear about labeling correlation as such, and careful about not drawing conclusions. If anything, your statement about "a LOT of factors" and my "safety is a really complex issue" seem pretty closely aligned.
Driving is dangerous.
"data … is missing the point."
I am glad that you agree with me that nothing in this thread supports the idea that there is a connection between texting and accidents.
@avclub-0b42e2fbb64a053aa3ec5c8b75926ae3:disqus Overall accident rates are a poor measure in that they lack specificity; they are an excellent measure in that they are the outcome we actually care about.
@Salvador_Dalai_Llama:disqus : well, I credit you for at least citing a source. (Also you get +1000 points with me for that user name.) But I note your source is a government propaganda website against distracted driving. No doubt there are people in the government just as well meaning, headstrong and underinformed…
@raoulfgonzo I am unmoved and unconvinced by your idea that I should disregard data but instead try to decide how this complex issues works through the simple expedient of "think about it." I am also unimpressed by your characterizing the issue as "not looking at the road" vs. "looking at the road." And I think if you…
Boy did you put me in my place about my wild claim that this issue pisses people off. I feel like I'm back on Usenet.
Hey, now. Those driven and ambitious go-getters are just trying to make up for the fact that they were born to parents who didn't know how to love them. In a sense, their possibility of a happy life died in the "crib fire" of their parents' neglect and abuse.
