Is the new J. Cole worthwhile, or is it this same weak stuff? I had kinda given up on him, but he had a good performance on the BET Awards, so I'm curious again.

It's a shame that a rapper from a non-customary location (my area, the DMV) needs to merge with another crew to get attention. It's an even greater shame to see that rapper piss away his talent for a bigger commercial edge. The lazy, pandering stink of Maybach Music kept me away from Wale's last record. And so it goes.

Go ahead and cancel Showtime. My wife cancelled Showtime and Starz two months ago, and we still get them.

I thought the most ACTOR-ly American accents were those from the South. I'm not wrong.

They've really tried to walk back the idea of Pope-as-leader-of-marauding-rapists. They obviously didn't know, going in, that this character was going to be so crucial. I believe the last time this was referred to, Pope condoned the raping, but did not actively participate.

Lazarus is good? I'm a fan of Greg Rucka, but was underwhelmed by Stumptown. I'll probably check this out when the first trade is released, like I've been doing with a lot of Image and Dark Horse stuff I've been trying.

Come on, folks. Do we have to argue? Superman Returns or Man of Steel? They both suck. Just in different ways.

Stupid, yes. Fun, maybe. Visually exciting, no freakin' way.

What Superman Returns got right? This article should be so much shorter.

And I'm sure if we went back and spoke to any of those 35 slaves (As an impressed Paula said: "That's a lot!"), they would say the same thing. Sure they would.

I understand that Paula cried when she saw the final sequence of Bamboozled. But out of nostalgia, not outrage.

I've worked, but I still haven't conquered Shoah's epic length. But the discoverry of this movie is just one of the debts that I owe to Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel. Their championing of this movie made a great impact on me as a young man, just realizing the power that cinema can have.

I mainly watched this to support Brian K. Vaughn. But it actually held my attention. Contrary to the suggestion that the show rushed to get to the pivotal dome-dropping moment, I was willing to accept that, in this instance. A few years ago, when ABC was devoted to putting out "faithful" King-adapted miniseries, they

That looked like a grape soda to me. But at least the label wasn't facing the camera.

Points taken away for stealing my idea (from a Walking Dead comment) to lure the zombies to a specific location, and blowing them to bits.

I was afraid of this. PG-13 for horror is even worse than kissing your sister. The only movies that could get by with that rating were the J-Horror adaptations of ten years ago. But those movies' scares were mainly allusive, and they weren't any damn good anyway.

Certain people I have hatred for, way out of proportion to the provocation they provide. That little troll, Meyer, certainly fits the bill.

I really objected to that. They totally changed the character of Pa Kent to suit their "My Two Dads" conflict with Jor-El, and then had Clark do something neither dad would agree with.

It looked to me that once Snyder and his CGI people developed that "punch/push/sling/drag your opponent into a nearby building" style of fighting, they brushed their hands together, said, "nailed it," and moved on to something else.

One of the main problems I had with Man of Steel, and doubtless will continue to have with this incarnation of Superman, is the disconnect between Superman's classic values, and the values of today's audiences. The Big Blue Boy Scout's classic support of Truth, Justice, and the American Way is either not supported by
