If someone suggests Allen is currently molesting his adopted daughters, you know they aren't worthy of being part of this very serious discussion.

It's pretty clear that Michael Jackson had no real sexuality in his personality. He never mentally or emotionally matured to that stage.

@MeMeMe99:disqus, that's a dumb dumb dumb comment.

Except that those are two entirely different types of psychologies and by conflating them you're insulting victims of child molestation. But who cares about that, right? We can draw hypothetical lines between events!

Yes, that's what we're talking about. These allegations first popped up 20 years ago and now are coming around again.

I take issue with the idea of "a lot of compelling evidence" and the "all but likely raped a child" line. If those were true, their would've been charges filed. An allegation does not stand in for evidence of said allegation's truth. Also, you can recognize that Allen has never been charged with anything while

Another person who was never convicted of the terrible things he was accused of.

So you are imagining Woody Allen ritualistically raping his adopted daughters. Yep, you're on the right side of this discussion.

Good thing he didn't play a fatherly role in her life.

Yep. It's so troubling and paints such a damning portrait that two different agencies cleared Allen and Soon-Yi to adopt daughters.

Yes, and Mia and Ronan's claims of the same. However, that isn't actually evidence. The reason we are asking "did Allen molest Dylan?" is because the Farrows have said he did. We need evidence to prove the said allegations. That's how justice (and kinda the base set of our morality) works.

So because Allen has not been tried, he's for sure guilty? Are you sure you want to make that your argument?

There's also a difference between siding with the potential victim and casting judgement without trial.

So because justice has been miscarried before, we abandon due process in this particular instance? That's terrifying. You've become everything you hate.

A meaningless statement after all those words. Your argument is "crimes are officially punished by the courts. We're not the courts so we don't have standards for our moral crusades."

There's a good thing - Woody clearly made terribly selfish choices with his family 20 years ago, They led to the destruction of that family. The Farrows' hate for him is justified. But if you're going to punish a man for child molestation, make sure you don't use the existence of one bad action stand in as evidence

Kinda seems like 2 should be the fulcrum of the argument, right?

I haven't seen any of those. The vast majority of Twitter seems convinced that he is 100% guilty from my point of view.

It'd probably still be good for there to be an investigation and evidence leading to some type of proof before we skinned them alive…

"That said, I'm not about to defend him at all in any of this. There is a
loooong history of people shutting down sexual assault victims talking
about what happened to them that is hugely fucked up and disgusting."
