Jesus christ am I… am I really rooting for the goddamn ELECTROLYTES at this point?  They're the We Are Heroes: the crew that has stood out only as not ever completely failing, when everyone exciting (and I WAS excited about RNG; their steady improvement was a great thing to get behind) is gone.
8 Flavahz is a pox on

If by "picking probably the best crew" you mean "habitually picking the objectively worst crew to be safe when there's only three left," then yes, they have a great track record.  They've literally done that every single season.

Oh no, Emily, I was trying to be careful not to call you overly negative, because you really aren't.  It's just partly the nature of a show like this: There comes a point that you're just waiting for a certain crew to get eliminated, and all you're going to say about them is Ugg are these guys still around?  Go away,

That is the one single thing that, when I stop and think about this show, makes me most uncomfortable.  With the exception of Status Quo in season 1 (who were criticized harshly as being, uhh, athletic but having no other positives) voters just don't get behind largely black crews.  Reason 5 million why they should

It'd be naive to think that wasn't at all a factor, though there's no way to know if it would have made a significant difference if they were less gay.  The producers did seem to make a point to have the white lady be the face of the group, even though the leader is one of the gay dudes.
It IS hard to not see that

Well, I mean, it can't be a surprise.  Writing reviews professionally for a website like this requires you to adopt a certain authoritative tone, and so seeing opinions I disagree with averred so directly and strongly causes cognitive dissonance.  It's literally a relief when that's lessened; that's all I'm saying.

…or maybe people were doing what the reviewer did in the writeup: Imposing bizarre negative motivations upon them out of nowhere with extremely shoddy justification.  From the second or third episode, there was just this sense that they must be smug and self-centered and, well, hubristic, despite there being

I appreciate Emily's write-ups (and especially her initiative getting ABDC a regular spot on here) but I have to admit that I feel a little relief knowing she won't be doing this anymore, for no reason other than the fact that when it comes to appreciating crews and routines, her opinions just seem to be apparently
