So sad. Static Shock is one of my kids' favorite cartoons, and mine as well. The comics are also worth picking up, although all I have is a recent trade paperback release.
Shit. Talented guy. Just sad. RIP.

It's like an issue of What if?
What if Aunt May was bitten by a radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker, what if Wolverine killed the Hulk, what if Al Gore was elected instead of Bush, and so on.
But yeah, me think Yoko won't be too pleased.
They have a lot of great tunes. I'm partial to their cover of Guitar Man. Others that come to mind are Frank Sinatra, Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps, I Will Survive cover, Comanche, Wheels; from this new CD, Long Time, Sick of You, Mustache Man (Wasted). I liked it. Worth picking up this one and their other albums.
Dos huevos, por favor.
I've heard a lot of folks say that Gargoyles is a great show, but I've never seen it. Agree about The Spectacular Spider-Man; not sure why that didn't get as much attention as it could have. I think the next animated Spidey is based on Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man, which has potential.
These shows are definitely meant for kids and adults. If I recall correctly, Justice League used to air at 10pm. So far Young Justice looks not quite as sophisticated as JL/JLU, which could be an attempt to make it more kid-friendly. There's also less blood than I saw in the direct-to-DVD Green Lantern movie, which…
The show is not being heavily promoted as far as I can tell, which is surprising because it's good and there is clearly an audience that wants more animated DC shows. I'm already frustrated at having to wait until January to see the next episode.
those mice studies sound interesting. I think (speculation here) that the filmmakers didn't include any therapies in this film because it would have diluted the power of the soldiers' stories. Again, that's a theory. The film seems to be about "these people are hurting" and that's all.
Black Caesar
great James Brown soundtrack to a movie that was mentioned in Public Enemy's 'Burn Hollywood Burn'.
makes me want to watch the show
despite the low grade. The topic is a great one, too bad if Singleton blew it. Does he really say "bad men"? Ouch.
I feel like they don't know what to do with Leachman. Agree that she does what she can with what she's asked to do, which admittedly isn't much. I think there are still some questions about where they want to take this show. Even in the few episodes that have aired, some have a very different tone than others. The…
Glad you mentioned the Brady thing, I forgot about that. Totally annoying. If they wanted a player with name recognition, Reggie Bush would have worked. But as usual, nobody asked me.
Agreed again. I don't think of the show as daring, and don't expect it to be. I prefer for any show follow through on a good idea and not take the easy way out.
Luke's "DIE! DIE!" whether he was plugged in or not was spot on. I'd love it if that became a running gag of sorts, like him running into stuff.
What Memles said. What I've liked about "Modern Family" is that it often manages to be funny while going a little bit deeper, not deeper as in "more dramatic", just going to the next level. The Cam/Mitchell pre-school plot has so much potential, and so does the idea of ditching the tech toys. Gloria killing animals…
I got Comix Zone on Wii Shop. Great game.
The hacky jokes were what made that bit funny, along with the laugh track and the fact that the person who said "she's wearing a sweater" was ALSO laughing. I've never seen more than a minute or two of "2 and 1/2 men" but I suspect they could have used those same lines with another show. "Saved by the Bell", and…
well said.
Any word that ends in a K — something like that, from a Star Trek: Next Generation episode.
Cucamonga (Simpsons reference).
@Professor Provolone, it wasn't the idea that they used military consultants, it was the way it was presented. The faces were blanked out to protect their identities, and they talked about it as if it was intended as a training resource for the armed forces, like America's Army. Except that it's a commercial game. It…
