Trust me, after last night he ain't so pretty no more. PWC doesn't take kindly to being embarrassed, no siree.

Hey, there were what, 25 awards handed out yesterday or something? And there was only a massive fuck up with one of them. That's a 95% success rate, an A grade at the very least.

Hey, it's not always the Jews. Sometimes it's a fuck of Gibson.

I said the same thing to the Easter Bunny once, only the hyphen was in a different place. There was a lot more disgust in my voice too, though that's hard to convey with text.

That's who I'm talking about. If you rematch the clip you'll see him shake his head and say "no" when the second producer calls him forward, at which point the people behind him and still discussing the situation and what to do. He then steps up and gives a non-specific statement of love and thanks to his family and

All I know is I hope he keeps on his path towards shitty direct-to-DVD movies. I've got a pitch for Death Wish: Pwince of Bel-Air that I've been sitting on.

Good, you shouldn't be holding a candle near Reg Shoe anyway, he'll do himself an injury.

Wait, did Voltron win Best Picture??

Same. It's a lot of understandable human error and confusion (on the part of the people on stage, not the organisers), and a real testament to how panicked people can get when a camera is broadcasting them to millions of people around the world.

Yeah, and that's the problem. I mean, I'm as guilty of it as anyone, I can't remember the last time I paid attention to the briefing at the start of a flight, and it's not like I have a lot of confidence that I'd follow those instructions precisely in the event of an actual crash.

I think after the first couple of years, people would adjust. Fewer tight clothes and high heels, for both the men and women (nobody's fooled, Cruise). Stunt coordinators getting promoted to EPs, etc etc.

Well, at least there's no way for anyone to blame this one on the Jews, it involving just some Hollywood industry types and accountants.

Beyond that, "clean" wins aren't exactly the norm. After a decade or so critics/the general public have usually decided what film "should" have won in a given year, and the actual cache from winning can be diminished. Crash, Shakespeare In Love, Forrest Gump etc etc will all, I would imagine, come to be seen as less

Yeah, I was kidding. I think people who know anything about the Oscars would know that a La La Land win would have been deserved, or at least the result of Hollywood's endless self-fellatio about the film industry more than anything specifically racist.

That was just some The Help nostalgia.

I can see the thought process for both of them.

Clearly you've forgotten Forrest Gump. For two reasons, no less!

Systemic racial bias?

Or it's just happened for awards that nobody cares about.

Yeah, that's the real slam on the organisers/PWC. These kind of mistakes can happen, but you're meant to have systems in place to correct them, and people trained to do so. I'm sure they had a plan in place, and I believe they've even detailed it to the press in prior years, but it clearly fell apart.
