I was astounded when I first listened to a lot of the bands that were considered punk pioneers (Ramones being a great example). My punk intro was 80s hardcore, which bore very little resemblance to the relatively catchy work of most 70s classic punk acts.
"The grays"?! What the hell am I getting into here? They sound like Ringwraiths or something.
See, you get it!
I somehow maintained the ability to log in with just my old AV Club account, linked to nothing but my history here. I'd REALLY like to be able to keep that.
OK, in seriousness…
We'll just have to agree to comment in some deep web-style muck at the bottom of the page.
Obviously not, it's a cost-control exercise. Because building your own IT platform for a medium-sized business is always more efficient than buying one from a company that spreads its development costs across hundreds or thousands of customers. This weekend I'm manufacturing my own car.
Oh, well yeah…in that case I can fuck off.
Yeah, until it doesn't.
Nashville or Bust. Whatever Happened to Alternative Nation? Like History of Violence, we need more long-form installment pieces like those.
Awesome. Isn't that how the very first commenting sections worked a decade-plus ago? Glad we've made such fucking progress.
Ha ha.
Kinja's feet are light and nimble. It never sleeps. It says that it will never die. It dances in light and in shadow and is a great favorite. It never sleeps, the Kinja. It is dancing, dancing. It says that it will never die.
That's a clown vote, bro.
Sean, I appreciate you putting on a brave face here, but you and the other writers are the ones who are going to get screwed if people stop showing up here to comment (which sounds like a very real risk). The IT staff can find another job tomorrow.
…and copied your boss.
As I recall it was over 1,000 within minutes.
THIS format is useful for tracking conversations as they happen. I'm responding to you. You were responding to fancy. But if this is pushed to the bottom of this overall thread no one will know what the fuck I'm talking about.
It's not like we have so many trolls right now that it's a big deal. Maybe a handful show up with politically-themed articles and there are a couple of general assholes you just block or ignore, but neither of those necessitate some sort of Big Brother bullshit.
