Yeah, it was specifically Atlantic farmed salmon. I was impressed by that.

Also, it's the best music to listen to before a soccer game.

Bottle of Buckie is my most-listened-to Ted Leo song, according to iTunes, so I'm totally with you Texecution. I said Hearts of Oak because I think it's the most consistent album, but you could put any of them on and it would fit and be awesome.

I know it's good- it's not like I don't like it- but that doesn't mean I don't miss the quieter stuff.

My left-field entry in the list I'm building in my head right now is the Faint's Danse Macabre. They fell pretty hard after that, but I absolutely adored that album when it was new and it still holds up. A great synth-pop record.

Honestly? I miss the Nick Cave of The Boatman's Call and No More Shall We Part. Maybe it's because it's winter right now, but I'm way more into the piano-ballad Cave than the RAWK Cave.

I hope that The Crying Light's January release doesn't make people forget it. (Also, I wonder how many times I'll be able to mention it in these comments.)

Here's a completely arbitrary, quarter-to-midnight list of things that pop into my head:

Yeah, there's been some amazing pure-pop stuff. Let's not forget Kylie Minogue- Can't Get You Out Of My Head and Come Into My World pop into mind immediately. Insanely good songs.

In my opinion the only 2009 album that deserves a place so far is The Crying Light, but there are reasons no one asks my opinion.

Ted Leo?
I love all his albums for different reasons, but I think Hearts of Oak would probably be the one I'd nominate.

Seconds on Silent Shout. Amazing.

Yeah, when did we start hating this one? I thought we liked it. Well, I like it, anyway.

Nixon with charisma?

Am I wrong in thinking that Mariah Carey in Peter Criss face paint would be amusing for at least a whole minute?

Here come the warm jets!
I find something in this show every week that stokes my geekiness and forces me into a little squeal.

I like Gap jeans. They fit, aren't that expensive, and they have them in a dark wash that I can wear to work. They even have short-people size.

I had to work on Christmas day once, and it was awesome. Time and a half with no customers.

Most of the people I've known who are/claim to be pagans do something with computers, in an office, so they've probably got some use for chinos.

My mom tends to call any show on ESPN that's not an actual game "the yelling show," so that theme really made me laugh.
