@Yabels - I'm not sure I agree, since I think The Village was the moment popular consensus turned. Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs were all fairly well received.
Well Horns is significantly better than Heart-Shaped Box, though I thought HSB was halfway decent for a debut novel, so make of that what you will.
