Ha, i didn't know that, i've never seen Canadian Idol. I also didn't know his show was on iTunes, i'll def check it out during the summer lull. I wish Twitch City existed somewhere :(

Even here in Canada, i don't think he's widely known. I remember catching a bit of the John Dore show once and was pleasantly surprised he was a lot more unique than i thought, he wasn't another vaguely generic Canadian comedian forced upon us just for the sake of Canadian content.
Mom Teti is a perfectly natural thing.
I like the actors, it is a funny show but i'm not near in love with it like everyone else is. It doesn't have much heart, it's a bit too cynical for me. It's also impossible for me to think of them as a family, it always felt like a bunch of randoms packed together in a house, which i guess is part of the point.
Haha, that Canadian Brass reference is pretty specific to my location/age range (grew up in the 80s in rural southwestern ontario with classical music parental geeks)
And it works. When my friend has his kids wearing Dalek t shirts those kids get doted on by so many otherwise disinterested people. It's a weird way of connecting in an (especially) urban environment. Cute little kid in a Arcade Fire t shirt swiping through Buster Keaton and Lolcat videos on the iPhone5 - the…
It's weird this focus being on making children tastemakers with the things they enjoy. I can understand the ego boost one would get from their offspring enjoying similar music/tv/movies but it's starting to take on some weird social cachet with organic baby food and $1500 strollers. Like my friend has a 12 year old…
I feel like saying this when people ask me why i hate social media.
I just love the idea of Phyllis using her looks to win a client, a rare glimpse of her coming out of her shell.
This was my answering machine message (when those existed) for a long time. My dad (who is an old and doesn't even know what the simpsons is) left a message with about 5 seconds of silence at the beginning, '……….. it's dad?…..call back…..?'
It's ok, dude.
Both Tate and Tate modern are great though you can't spit without hitting a top notch museum/gallery in London. The V&A and National Portrait Gallery are just as good too. Turner is not, personally, my favourite but British artists in general are great.
Women sure do have a lot of work ahead of them to look like very specific physically acceptable humans.
people stopped talking about Corel Draw in 1979? Wow!
Little Britain does some great racism critique. Like the Weight Watchers type group leader, who, when the indian woman in her group answers questions in perfect english, the leader just keeps going, 'What? What? Sorry? Sorry? Sorry? Sorry?' every time she speaks.
Yep, same. There is no excuse for my food to be cold from sitting under the heat lamp while waiting for my friend's meal, which takes longer, to cook. You time them both so they are done at the same time. I cooked for years, it's not hard. Though i probably wouldn't have given this thought if i hadn't been a line cook.
I feel ya. A friend of mine works at a printing shop and still has to use corel draw sometimes.
I wish that was a podcast, i could have listened to that conversation a lot longer. I don't love Norton's comedy but i love listening to him just talk (i feel similarly about Marc Maron).
You'd love the Little Britain sketches where an older uptight english woman projectile vomits profusely any time she vaguely encounters a non white person.
They both died at the end of that though. *NFB fan
