He was one of the best characters on Northern Exposure out of a cast of great character actors. He was a hardass but still came across as a sweet, giving person who could have his mind changed. He had everything he could ever want, but he could never have Shelley.

It is - I know the woman who did a whole book on Nudie's suits and this one was one of the best. It's all his favourite drugs embroidered on the suit!
