I'm beginning to notice that Ryan is in EVERY. SINGLE. SCENE. While it didn't seem to be a problem in this episode, it often makes the episode feel cluttered and rushed (maybe this was the structure problem everyone was referring to at the beginning). I "awwwed" when Gary offered Nina his extra pudding. That was a great moment between the two of them.

After this episode, I am slightly more optimistic that this show might work. I see things like that iPhone moment and it makes me hopeful that some neat stories are possible with this premise and that the writers are interested in telling them.

Gary: "No. Hearts don't really break. They can stop, and they can leak, but they can't really break. It just - it gets tired, it gives up after a while."

Have the people who complain that the premise is scienctifically unplausable ever seen EVERY OTHER (SCI-FI) TV SHOW?!? Are we forgeting the FICTION part of science fiction? Just go with it. Suspend your disbelief. You might like it.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but… I like this show. I thought the pilot was good (probably my favourite new sitcom pilot this year), although I was a little unsure where it was going to go from there. While I don't think this episode was as good as the pilot, I did still enjoy it. I will definitely be watching…

Nice catch on the fire thing. I probably never would have picked up on that (I'm so bad at finding symbolism unless it's shoved in my face).
