Give it time.  The first episode is entertaining but, like Adventure Time, we don't know how deep the rabbit hole goes.  Will there be an overarching plot or will it be one off adventures for kids?  Only time will tell.  The new TV reviews will help immensely with this.

My only major complaint about Heimdal being black is the actor they had playing him (Elba) was my frontrunner to play Black Panther.

I am OK with whitewashing as long as the characters can act.  The fact the couldn't and changing the fire nation to everyone of Indian descent came across as hilariously inept.

I think you were pretty spot on with your assessment of the episodes.  Silver Dude may have been a breezy episode but damn did it make me laugh at certain points.  Particularly the ending.
