I liked the way Brody didn't lie to Nazir's widow - nor, for that matter, to Akbari. What he said just meant something else than they thought. He said to the widow that he came to Tehran because he was tired of running and he had nowhere else to go, and he said to Akbari he came to redeen himself. I'm guessing he told

Walt is a scarily good liar. In addition, it's always easier to lie convincingly if you're telling the truth. Skyler *had* an affair with Ted, and she *was* very disturbed by his accident (partly because she was the one behind it, of course). So it was a very good cover story.

The first book starts with blue-eyed zombies, so obviously there is still (or is that "again"?) magic in this world. Ice-magic in the prologue and fire-magic in the final scene.

No, it was set in 1938.

Thanks for covering ya
Would have bought you a beer if I had the chance. And I agree on both Kanye West and Mari Boine (and Kaizers Orchestra, for that matter - choosing Aphex Twin over them was a no-brainer).

I will love you till the bitter end
and all the bitter moments till then

Thanks for sharing, and it is, as always, a joy to hear what you have to say about your book and the process surrounding it. I am working as an editor with a guy who is just finishing his first, memoir-ish, book, and have mentioned The Big Rewind (which I really liked) to him several times. Now I'm going to give him

We went to Amsterdam (we live in Norway) to see him in 2004, deciding it would be worth the black market price and the trip and getting a babysitter and everything, because it would be the concert experience of a lifetime. When we got out of the theatre, the first thing we said was "Next time, we're getting tickets to

My guess is Bennet. Remember how surprised Topher was that Bennet was so young, and how he believed she was an imprinted (and very beautiful) doll?

Topher is breaking my heart
I never would have thought so in Season 1, but Topher quickly became the most interesting character in S2, also because of his state in Epitaph One. He has had quite the arc of self-awareness this season, what with the "Whisky episode", with releasing Sierra to get her revenge, with last

One of my favourites
I love this movie (in fact I am instantly skeptical about anyone who doesn't like it, because I wonder what else might be wrong with them), and agree very much that the scene in the karaoke bar was the most intense and memorable.

I am glad to hear Whedon is optimistic. And I will buy Dollhouse Season One on DVD for everyone I know for Christmas to vote with my wallet.

Phoenix, I agree, but would also like to point out that what Boyd did was not only to help Priya, but to save Topher and Adelle and, in fact, the same Dollhouse that it is his job to protect. When the shit has already hit the fan, this was the only way to make sure Topher doesn't go down, and probably Adelle as well.

Re November: I had the feeling, at the time, that her grief over her baby was almost something *physical* as well as mental, and that the couple of years that had passed had allowed her body to get over it to a degree, making the mental part possible to bear. I thought it fit well with the physical changes of

Agree with mattereater, and figure what Rebecca was thinking, but didn't say, was that she somehow recognized that our Peter is not the same person as the baby she remembered. She distrusts her own abilities, though, which might be why she didn't say anything. (Also she trusts Walter completely, and when he introduces

Peter 2
". Rebecca used to be able to spot visitors from Earth-2—and apparently recognized Peter as an impostor when was a baby (…)"

Incompetence all over
OK, this was not as bad as the last episode. It was a lot more *boring*, though, and boring is not what this kind of show needs. It's a global catastrophe, "the old rules don't apply anymore", there should be a sense of urgency, an overload of information of action. Instead they pad the episode

So how much
free beer do I need to drink to cover the airline ticket? *fires up calculator*
