So was I. Then they took so long to show who Juliet was talking to that I thought it was going to be Siobhan and was disappointed that it wasn't.

Correct, it was going to center around Mac and Wallace in some form but for whatever reason Rob Thomas has never explained what it was going to be.

While I definitely agree "Phase One" warrants its own special long writeup, I think it may make more sense to do two episodes as usual and just cover the important beats of "Double Agent," namely:

Nope, Beaver was introduced specifically to be the Season 2 killer.

    "What's a spork?"

I don't think anyone minds the idea of Aaron being acquitted for Lilly's murder.  Some of the surrounding stuff is what's problematic: The way the trial is handled, that he's not convicted for (or even charged with?) his attempted murder of Keith & Veronica, etc.

"Ok, I get that those of you who are familiar with law (as opposed to
myself, I'm saying) probably enjoy arguing about this sort of thing, but
look at fucking Law & Order.  The proceedings of actual trials need
to be horribly mangled to make effective narrative tv, but once
    mutilated, it really really works."

It's horrible even by the standards of TV lawyerin'.

He was in "I Am God" per IMDB.

Rowan: Nothing about the implausibility of the trial even by TV standards?  Really?

I've really disliked liked the artificiality of the vandalism charges.  There has been no mention of Emmett's bike/license plate being caught on camera, just his face, so how'd the police find him?  What took so long?  Why is a minor being fined $5,000?

    SPOILERS

Whoops, logged in using Google earlier instead of my AVC specific account.

IIRC the alternate ending was filmed solely to draw people to the UPN website and was never intended as canon.

FYI Netflix streaming is missing an important S5 episode.

I watched this once or twice and didn't really like anything about the show other than the cute lesbian nurse.

Hasn't Joss said many times that UPN had no standards and practices department?

    Aww…
Nothing about the seemingly accidental whiplash jump cut that starts the episode? That thing is incredibly weird.

    STILL SPOILIN'
