I'm watching S2 Seinfeld now (off and on) and its great - maybe A- rather than A. S1 was the only truly average one.

Season one was sparing with the meta. Season two less so and season three not at all.
I agree- that would have been a great time to have him commit suicide. Especially if we later saw increasing evidence that he was manipulated towards it by Frank/Stamper. Moral guilt without legal would have been a subtler way to handle Frank removing this obstacle.

This was part of the problem with the scene. The foreshadowing combined with the fact that I - and presumably a lot of the audience - already knew Frank would become a murderer, made it insufficiently shocking. My hope for the next season is that they throw away the source material and just write from the premise…
