She's a pretty talented comedic actress. I don't know why she insists on this dreck.

Wick has become an Orpheus figure, with killing as his art. He punches lit cigarettes straight into henchmen’s mouths and pins assailants down with the barrel of his shotgun while he reloads for a point-blank shot to the chest.

Honestly, I can't believe the dude is as old and agile as he is. He's a goddamn vampire or something. I hope this movie does gangbusters.

It's my anniversary with my girlfriend this weekend. We're having a nice dinner and all, but we're most excited about catching John Wick: Chapter Two. The first film is a master class.

I could've sworn I read that he wrote the first season?

I mean, yeah, she is definitely one of the personalities he absorbs. Interested to see if we'll find any others. But you're right about the visualization bit. Seeing Lenny appear in a mirror just off to the side was brilliant.

AVC: And that scene where David blows up the kitchen—how is that even done?
AP: I’m pretty sure that that was a practical effect and they added digital effects later to freeze it. But I remember Dan saying it was a practical effect, which means that they loaded up all those drawers and they actually blew that stuff out

In the pilot, not so much, unfortunately. Aubrey Plaza is a Latina. But near the end, a few POC were introduced who seem like they'll be of import later as part of the "team." It wouldn't be an X-property without a stab at good representation so I hope Legion follows the tradition. It was a great watch, though.

It's a hell of a pilot. I was on board from that opening montage. Just…a lot of beautiful imagery and killer action sequences in one half hour. I'm excited to see more of the trippiness. I don't foresee Aubrey Plaza being gone for long. She'll definitely be a voice in his head for a while yet. And man oh man, Rachel

I read it. It didn't really make me feel any better about it. But mostly because of the whole "we were going to kill him earlier! but things changed! but things can't change that much, so we killed him just as it was going to hurt most!" The justification brings to mind the HIMYM finale, which is not a good comparison.

Can't wait for them to adapt in graphic detail the story of A Cautionary Song.

After that whole "You're my superior" bit, I like to imagine that he and Shockley are into some very, very intense d/s play.

Daisy's become a fast fav. And she's been kicking so. much. ass lately. It's great and! believable.

I was referring to the 2005 game. It's like, an amalgam of the comics and the movie universe. IIRC Thomas Jane actually voices the Punisher. It may be time for a new third-person Punisher game.

To be honest, I was on Agnes' side the entire time. Every time Coulson goes "you're going to (do something)" to any civilian, I want them to rebel openly and react with hostility. But ah, this show learned its lesson. Him appealing to her with honesty? Good tactic.

I loved that she called it a "footie" team.

The PS3/Xbox/Gamecube adaptations of Marvel properties around that era tended to be very, very good. I especially liked how the majority of them were advertised as being adapted from the movies but then just bring in Spider-man and Ironman (looking at you, Punisher video game) out of nowhere.

Agreed on Alba and Ben stealing the show this week. The inhaler scene was something else, and I loved how much they committed to it. It's really, really dark! And, of course, Alba makes Ben torch the Rolls.

Jess and Nick's chemistry was off the charts tonight. Granted, Johnson and Deschanel have always had bonkers chemistry, which is why I accepted they had to be kept apart for the majority of the season. But tonight, yeah, high Nick and Jess were eeeeexactly why I've been rooting for them all along.

Hey, hey. Don't set him off.
