Daughters of the Dragon!
Daughters of the Dragon!!
I'm only a few episodes in, but I'm liking it a lot. The plot hasn't kicked into gear just yet, but I'm interested in seeing where it goes. Colter is a great leading man, and the music and mood are marvelous. I'm liking the shout-outs, too.
*bed breaks in anticipation*
She was Jean Grey's roommate during the Dark Phoenix saga, I believe. They were besties for a spell.
This is weird. Isn't this what we were all talking about being a good idea during the last film review? Could be fun.
Divorcing a character like Luke Cage from his status as a black man in America seems like it's missing the point of him. That the show seems to be making a point of not doing that is probably one of the most important things a reviewer should be aware of. I'm sure the episode by episode reviews will focus more on what…
I'm so damn excited for this show. I almost wish I'd called into work today. Q: How's Misty? She's one of my favorite characters, and I'm hoping she isn't relegated to anything resembling a love interest.
My favorite aspect of this show is the working actor's life as portrayed on this show. My least favorite? Her shitty kids. I'm sure it's true to life, they're well-sketched out characters, and they're all good actors…but ugh, damn. I realized I get such joy out of her losing her shit on them. (The littlest kid is OK.…
Ah, yeah. I'm fully on board with this show. Ted Danson and Kristen Bell are at the top of their comedic games. Jameela Jamil is just a joy to watch as Tahani, who I've kind of fallen a bit in love with over the last few episodes. The world building is just enough. I can't see where it goes.
Beautiful, poignant, heartbreaking.
I used to think this show was a decent enough distraction. I'm pretty fine with never watching it again.

Oh, Telegraph Avenue. The Chabon novel most likely to have multiple copies on the shelf at Half-Price Books. I stopped reading it about half-way through. It would probably make a decent movie, but, as a novel, it went in too many meandering directions for me to really care.
Isn't that Tavi Gevinson's whole origin story?
I say cast him and keep him as Carter Slade. I'd love to see some old west Ghost Rider action.
He was Slade in the original Teen Titans cartoon. I remember him being fantastically creepy.
"Hellfire" is maybe one of my favorite sequences in any Disney movie. What a chilling song.
