Some are kind of long, but they do get you up to speed and they include various mysteries and theories. Plus they can be pretty funny.

The thing that bugs me the most in my re-read is the re-explaining. I just started book six and he is re-explaining some basic shit like who the Dragon Reborn is. I don't know if they thought the readers would forget if there was a year or two between books or if they actually thought a new reader would pick up book 6

I started the series back in college and while much of it does not hold up in light of the great new fantasy landscape it is still a pretty good tale with a decent magic system. I agree about savage love, as it is really regular, but it would be nice to be able to follow New Cult Canon or the Sawbuck Gamer monthly roundup and get a handy little note on the home page rather than digging around and then finding that it has not been updated yet.

In Chrome his ginormous head extends through the text and over to the menu on the right. Looking at the source code, they used a different sized image:

I think the very name Red Wedding is thrown about so much around here and on other boards that it's very mention can no longer be termed a spoiler. It could refer to any number of potential weddings for those poor poor newbies. It may not even refer to a 'wedding' per se.
