To be fair, I haven't read any of the music oral histories that are being mentioned here, but from what I am gathering they're a pretty far cry from oral history as it's practised academically.

There's also a history (well-known to feminists) of doctors demonizing
midwifes (which is thought to be one of the beginnings of the
large-scale witch hunts).

Second only to The IT Crowd's D&D ep
With the zombie episode, everyone understood that it was a parody of zombie movies and therefore the characters were playing zombie movie roles. This was a parody of fantasy storytelling, and I thought it worked in a similar way.
I liked it
"It's repetitive (since most of the stories feel the need to re-explain the eponymous machine), yet inconsistent in little details which suggest the stories don't all take place in the same world."
Here in Chicago at least, NBC was advertising that both versions would be on their website — "Go to NBC.com to watch the west coast version!" or somesuch.
That's because they've got soul.
Agreed, Gethard wasn't a straight man so much as flat. He had this obnoxious wide-eyed naive thing going on that sucked the air out of all his dialogue and all his scenes by extension. There was some obvious sloppiness, too; characters who have just (re)united and yet are killing time together automatically after one…
I think you and the people who complain about Ann being boring are missing the point. She SEEMS totally normal and boring, but obviously she is actually kind of jealous and controlling. She's way happier thinking she's got Justin on the back burner and having Andy panting after her than seeing either of those guys…
No
Organic Liason is not an ok name, it's terrible. It sounds like some kind of feminine hygiene product.

Those library bitches
The little glimpses we get into the bizarre cultures of the different government departments are the best part of this show. I loved the idiot animal control dudes. "How'd you know my name?"
I enjoyed it unironically, especially since the wacky dentist only served to highlight the absence of my favorite Ho Chi Minh City School of Medicine alum.
I like how they're making Ann possessive about men. First she was "saving" Justin, now she's a little uncomfortable with the idea of Andy and April getting together… It's a nice touch for a character that started out as "the sane one".
Seconded. For once on TV, this is actually in character.
Shut it down, Baldwin
Jack needs to stop having love interests. Seriously, they have all been terrible except for CeCe.
Yeah, exactly; and then thinking of the damage budget crises etc are doing to my "disadvantaged" students… It just seemed hard to believe that this could go on for ten years; and then I could hardly even watch the reactions…
Yeah, I was waiting for someone to catch on that Dwight was being ridiculous. I mean, he's openly tried to foment rebellion; people should know he's up to shit.
I couldn't get past the tragedy of the situation to find the funny. I know, that's not much fun of me, but god this was so terrible. I had kind of a hard time seeing it so confined in the plot, too. I mean, no one really got dragged into the problem (Erin was really just an audience) and then Michael just walks away.
+1 for Panopticon reference.
