The most awfully written Newswire in ages. It's not the characters, as much as the ideas, that made Watchmen the incredible work it is. If you seriously think this will "build on" the characters, you're an idiot.

One of Rabin's "hilarious" "jokes".
As lots of people have said, the easy way to get round this is to have them either be adopted, or for the Mother to show up years later with kids in tow, after he knocked her up sometime around 2014.
FUCK YOU
If they go on forever, I hope they remember the flashforwards they have (them getting high at a high school reunion, Ted meeting those dudes at the airport in 2020 or whatever) and incorporate them.
I think they've created the beast by making so many references to it - I'm of the opinion they should cast the Mother and get on with it. I hoped the creators of this show would want to end it when they wanted, rather than when the ratings finally dry up. I expected more from them.
Bits and pieces really didn't gel with me in this episode, and although no-one's going to read it now (two days after broadcast!) I'll get it out there anyway.
The Robin specifying they were back to being friends in the kid's toy store pretty much killed any chance of them getting married at the end of this season.
To me there's lots of fake-out about that. Who talks to their imaginary late-teens children when they're only in their early 30s themselves? It implies she's watching the show and is copying that plot device.
I thought it was insane he'd not only have an ethics hearing for two people he considered his good friends, he'd work like a dog to find stuff to prove them guilty. The entire episode just rang hollow to me.
I would guess she improvised quite a lot of it, and it showed.
Best episode of the season so far, I think. There were some bad bits (Wiig's surprise-lover was just painful, and the cold open sucked) but I didn't feel embarrassed for the show when I watched it with friends, which is often the case.
Absolutely agree (I was returning to post something similar). I still wish they'd just use the old soundboard from time to time, as while it didn' t work from time to time, when it did Craig obviously had a whale of a time.
Excellent post, Schmoker. I want to like Conan, but every time I drop in on his show it's the same old thing - he really should have used the opportunity of moving to TBS to do something different, anything different but no.
Good call on Jeffrey Dean Morgan, another naturally funny guy.
Did you guys see his Fox early evening show last year? It was terrible, and it was nothing to do with the guests. The world has moved on, and Kilborn hasn't.
Oops, sorry. Did Maron not give the other side to it, though?
Agreed. There's just no way the two of them should be a couple, and we need to see just a few scenes to make us believe. Have they even kissed on camera this season?
I think he's just brilliant, the only show I bother to watch every single night (admittedly, via torrent the next morning as I live in the UK, but still). I skip past the guests reasonably regularly, but every now and again he'll have someone on who just completely surprises you with how naturally funny they are.…
I'm bored of him always making reference to how hot the woman is on the show, just interview them please.
