I don't know about being supposed to hate it, but I don't think that Little Miss Sunshine is quite as highly/widely regarded as it used to be. Sometimes popular opinion on certain films cools down a bit.

Good question. The only answer I can float in response without straying too far off topic is that sometimes we just cannot resist the urge to rubberneck at what we are convinced is a car wreck of epic proportions (this is why I went to see the first film in the Twilight series).
